What is The7 15?
The7 15 is a new generation of The7 built on a new modular, FSE-first architecture while preserving compatibility with existing The7 websites. Elementor, WPBakery, and Custom modes remain available for existing non-FSE websites.
Existing websites do not need to be rebuilt. The7 provides an automatic migration path to The7 15, and existing The7 child themes remain compatible.The7 15 is the current release track, receiving new features and ongoing compatibility updates for WordPress, PHP, WooCommerce, Elementor, WPBakery, and other plugins.
Why is update access changing?
For many years, ThemeForest sales funded The7 development, support, compatibility updates, and the pre-made websites library. That model is no longer sustainable.
During this year, ThemeForest sales declined roughly 2–3 times. Then, on July 1, 2026, Envato increased its author fee for previously exclusive authors from 12.5% to 50%, while continuing to charge buyers a separate $12 buyer fee.This fundamentally changed the economics of maintaining a large, actively developed WordPress product through ThemeForest.
We had a choice: gradually reduce development and let The7 become a legacy product, or move the current release track to direct licensing and continue investing in it.
We chose to continue developing The7.
The7 14 remains the legacy ThemeForest release and continues to receive security and essential maintenance updates. The7 15 and future generations are distributed directly, with new features and ongoing compatibility updates included with an active The7 plan.

Why is The7 15 not included for all previous Envato purchases?
The7 15 is a new major generation of The7, built on a new architecture and prepared for the next stage of WordPress development.
We originally planned to continue shipping major The7 releases through Envato as before. However, after recent marketplace changes, we can no longer continue releasing major new The7 generations under the old one-time marketplace purchase model.
Envato purchase codes remain eligible to upgrade to The7 15 and receive future The7 updates for 12 months from the purchase date. After that period, an active direct The7 plan is required to continue receiving new releases, features, and updates.
I purchased The7 on Envato less than 12 months ago. What happens to me?
Your Envato purchase includes updates until 12 months from the purchase date.
You can upgrade to The7 15 now and continue receiving updates until your update period ends. After that date, your website will continue to work with the installed version, but future The7 updates will require an active The7 1-Site or The7 Unlimited plan.
I purchased The7 on Envato more than 12 months ago. What happens to me?
Your website will continue to work with the installed version.
If it is running The7 14, it will only receive security and essential maintenance updates.
To upgrade to The7 15 and receive new features and updates, activate The7 1-Site or The7 Unlimited plan.
